Thus, Pokhra is the wonderful place with a natural beauty which is much suitable for most of the trek route.

Culture of pokhara

The culture of Pokhara is an interesting one because the history of the area is long but the developed history of the city itself is less than a century in age. This produces an interesting culture because many of the more rural and simple aspects of life in Pokhara have been preserved in a way which is not seen in places which developed gradually over time.  However, because much of what caused Pokhara to develop was tourism, the culture has been greatly influenced by the Western world’s interest in the East.  This leads to a unique vibe in the area which can only be felt, not described.
As far as the people who are living in the area, they are made up of numerous different native groups.  The largest of these groups are the Gurung, Magar, and Newar groups.  Another large group in this city is made up of Tibetan refugees who came to the area to escape persecution in their homeland.

Museum

The first and only of its kind in Nepal, possibly the whole world, the International Mountain Museum in Pokhara was inaugurated on February 5, 2004.  Meant to be deference to both the mountains and the mountaineers, the museum consists of five galleries covering the triangular relation between Man, Mountain and Mountain lifestyle.

It was envision to provide an updated, comprehensive repository of information related to the geography, ecology, and culture of the whole Himalayas.
Of its five main gallery, the Gallery of the Mountain People of the World showcase the articles of the mountain people that represent their culture, like their dress, curios and equipment used in their daily life. The Mountain Gallery exhibits geological information of the world mountain system including their origin and mountain locale. Similarly, the World Mountain Activities Gallery includes information on all great expeditions, and other mountain adventures like skiing, hunting, and paragliding.

While the Great Exhibit Gallery is meant to display private collection of the individuals and institutions for a certain period of time, the Associates’ Exhibit Gallery exhibits the activities of the organizations like International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN),  International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and World Wildlife Fund (WWF), working in the field of mountain conservation.

One of the central attractions of the museum is the model of Mt. Manaslu that stands 31 feet from the ground. The museum now houses research, and conference  hall as well as the museum consists of the 21 meter tall artificial himalaya of the mt.everest which is free for people to climb on ithe artificial mt.everest.

Made possible by the tireless attempts of the Nepal Mountaineering Association, it covers an area of 4142 metres. It is an ambitious project carrying the objective of   recording and documenting natural history and culture of the Himalayas as well as all the mountains of the world; recording and documenting all major mountain activities in the Himalayas and other main mountain ranges of the world and to be an educational and research center as well.
A string of mountaineers from the whole world, mountaineering organisation, and other well-wishers contributed much on it for its establishment.

setiriver

The Seti originates from the snow fields and glaciers around the  peaks of Api and Nampa in the south facing slopes of the main Himalayas. The area is near the trijunction of the borders of Nepal, India  and China .
The river first flows in a south-easterly direction, then turns and flows in a south-westerly and finally south-easterly again before joining the Karnali or Ghagra River.
The Seti catchment area marks the water-divide between Kali River system in the west and Gandak or Narayani River system in the east. It has cut a spectacular gorge across the Mahabharat Range and appears to be lost amongst caves and tunnels for a short distance.[1]
Experience of Rafting in seti river:It has been over two months since my return from the Nepal adventure.  The fourth phase of our trip involved river rafting on the Seti River for a half day, camping over two nights with treks each day to neighboring villages, and then a final morning of rafting before boarding a bus for the kathmandu. The Seti river runs from the Himalayan Mountain Range with a crystal blue, meandering footprint.  Our first day on the river was actually just a half day but beautiful and fairly easy to navigate.so, I became so glad to that I will come there again and again.

shanti stupa

The 'World Peace or Shanti Stupa  is located on the Peak of Anandu Mountain in Pumdi Bhumdi VDC, Kaski, Pokhara. The Stupa lies at 21 hundred feet above sea level and is about 7 kilometres from the Prithvi Highway. It
Located on the peak it stands as a beacon of peace and can be seen from every corner of the Pokhara valley. Shanti Stupa is the only stupa in Pokhara located at such a great height.

Construction of the Stupa first began in 1973 but, a year later, owing to some difficulties in construction it was stopped for some time. After the restoration of democracy in the country construction work was again in full swing. Eventually, after ten years, this Stupa was completed on November 5, 1999.
The stupa itself covers 100 metres and its height is 11 metres. The stupa has been painted white because it is the colour and symbol of peace, therefore the name is also Peace Stupa.
On the pinnacle of the stupa a golden cupola is mounted that is visible from a long distance. Among others, four majestic statues of the Buddha are placed at the four compass points and are most eye-catching.
The southern statue was installed through the collective efforts of Buddhist devotees of Nepal. The Buddha's statue on the west was brought from Sri Lanka, while the one on the north was brought from Thailand.

Myogoji has also built Nepal's biggest stupa in Lumbini, birthplace of Buddha, famous for its enormous size and beautiful features.  So far Myogoji has managed to construct 90 grandiose stupas in different parts of the world.
As Gandaki zone has a huge population of Buddhists this is probably why so many Buddhist monasteries are built in and around Pokhara.  Buddhism has also grown enormously popular in the west and many westerners have become followers and are naturally attracted to these beautiful monasteries and stupas. Every stupa is beautifully decorated in a variety of colours. thus, the world famous stupa is the most peaceful place in the world.so,people should have to visit shanti stupa so that they feel sense of peace and love among people.
